- What counts as a build minute?
- Build minutes are measured from when the VM or container starts your build steps until they complete. VM boot time and artifact upload are not counted.
- What happens if I run out of free minutes on the Free plan?
- New builds are blocked until the next month. You can upgrade to the Pro plan anytime to keep building — you only pay for the extra minutes you use beyond the free 100.
- What happens if I run out of free minutes on the Pro plan?
- You keep building. Minutes beyond the free 100 are charged at $0.06/min for macOS and $0.04/min for Linux, deducted from your pre-paid credit balance.
- How does the credit balance work?
- On the Pro plan, you pre-load credits into your account ($5 minimum). Build costs are deducted from your balance. If your balance hits zero, builds are paused until you add more credits.
- Do credits expire?
- No. Credits never expire. Use them whenever you need to build.
- Can I switch plans anytime?
- Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your billing dashboard. Changes take effect immediately.
- What machines do you use for builds?
- iOS builds run on dedicated Apple Silicon Mac Minis with macOS VMs. Android builds run in lightweight Linux Docker containers. Both are fast and isolated.
- Do you support App Store and Play Store publishing?
- Yes, on the Pro plan. BuildMagic can upload your IPA to App Store Connect and your APK/AAB to the Google Play Console as part of your build pipeline.
- Is there a contract or long-term commitment?
- No contracts, no subscriptions. The Pro plan is pure pay-as-you-go — you only pay for build minutes beyond the free 100. Cancel or switch back to Free anytime.
- Where does my code run?
- Every build runs in an isolated, ephemeral environment — a fresh macOS VM or Docker container. The environment is destroyed after the build completes. Your source code never persists on our infrastructure.
